Evelynn's Long Handle Bilum

These long handle bilums and the Fiber Bilums are woven by Evelynn Yama and Elis Yama, the two sisters are from Southern Highlands Province. They are engaged in the bilum business since they are young women and now, they both are married but are still doing the bilum business together to support each other’s families.  The wool bilums are made from nylon that are bought from shops and the Fiber bilums are made from fibers that are extracted from bush plants that are collected, dried and are twisted and finally woven into the glamorous bilums that you see here
