The Central Lakatoi

The Lakatoi is a traditional canoe made from dugout logs that are fastened together for space and balance. Is it used in the past for the traditional Hiri Trade where the Motu people would travel to Gulf province with their clay pots to trade for sago and other goods. The Lakatoi represents Explorations, Unity and community development.
